Wai-O-Tapu & Polynesian Spa Tour from Auckland | Expedigo | Shaara Deals

Wai-O-Tapu's geothermal system spans more than 18 square kilometres, making it New Zealand's most extensive. Expedigo's small group tour, listed on Shaara Deals from $360, pairs it with an afternoon soak at the Polynesian Spa in Rotorua.

Auckland to Wai-O-Tapu

The day starts with hotel pickup in Auckland for a scenic drive south. At Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland, the geothermal activity is immediate — steam rising from the ground and the scent of sulfur in the air, shaped by volcanic activity over thousands of years into one of the country's most colourful geothermal landscapes.

Soaking at the Polynesian Spa

After Wai-O-Tapu, the tour heads to the Polynesian Spa on the shores of Lake Rotorua, where guests can choose between the gentle alkaline pools or the more invigorating acidic pools, both drawing on the same thermal water. Views stretch across Lake Rotorua and the surrounding forest while soaking.

Rotorua highlights and the return

After the spa, there's time to explore some of Rotorua's other highlights before the return drive to Auckland.
