A very different experience and happy we went!! We did the full experience. Only recommendation is use an old swim suit or use theirs, please do NOT use your favorite suit!!! Nothing will take the smell out! Also, you can't wear jewelry for 24 hours after the baths.

Hell's Gate has been on my list of want-to-do's since my last visit to Rotorua in 2021. My partner and I are here for the long weekend, so I finally had the chance to go, and we genuinely LOVED it! We decided to do it all: geothermal walk, mud bath and sulfur spas.

We've visited this place yesterday afternoon and I feel so lucky to have visited. The reserve is very fascinating consisting of multiple areas that are actively boiling and steaming. I have also seen some falls in this area.

Best experience ever! It was a 40th birthday present for my husband and he really enjoyed it. He said it was the best thing he ever did! The mud bath is for 20 minutes only but the spas and spring is for the whole day which was definitely worth it. My kids enjoyed the spa so much and we are planning a trip back soon.

What a great experience. We came right at opening and walking around the park felt like we had it all to our selves. Was very interesting reading about all the different areas. Even though it was raining it was an awesome experience. The rain actually produced more steam and who cares if it was raining anyway you are taking a bath you are wet anyway. Only thing I would have done differently though was held off on the walk around their park when it wasn't raining but again all in all a great experience.

Had a wonderful time here my skin felt so soft after being in the mud bath I would advise on renting a swimsuit and towel as a sulfur tends to stick to everything. You absolutely must sign up for the tour of the whole place, including the forest tour guides are so informative.

The waterfall was awesome the Geothermal area was only small and we left quite disappointed. There was a closed section past the waterfall not sure whether there was more Geothermal areas in there. We did get a 10% discount due to the closure which was nice.

This would have to be the best mud experience in New Zealand. Not only that: the pools are literally on and overlooking the geothermal park with stunning falls and forest. Make sure you make the free tour to help explain it all!

Just remember to bring change of clothes and very important to follow their guide on washing the clothes. The sulphur smell is strong, so be prepared for that.

Fantastic experience. We didn't do the Spa but we walked around the geothermal park which was very impressive and informative. The cafe at rhe end has basic stuff but they sold the native te which was delicious. Definitely recommend to visit when in Rotorua.

The mud bath was a highlight, aside from the walk around the park and them letting you carve your own souvenir coaster. Pool water is lukewarm, and they do have a cold plunge which was nice. Unfortunately half of the walking tour was closed when we went but it was still a very interesting visit. It smells exactly the way you think… but that's why you go! Fascinating seeing all of the sulphur pits

Such an epic tour around the geothermal springs. So much fascinating history and Maori connection to the land - uses of the pools for ailments, wounds, pain, cleansing. The guide, Liam was FANTASTIC.
