An experienced moment that once you taken this adventure you will know what I mean 😏 Wanaka and its surrounds from the air are truly amazing, 2 landings on the tops of the mountains is a view worth taking in , light cloud and light rain made it spectacular with a double rainbow 🌈 that we went through on the return back 😀

I would like to say thankyou to Wanaka Helicopters. We were in Wanaka for a week's family snowboarding holiday in July 2026, and my 17yr old fractured his wrist on day 2. He was incredibly disappointed that he couldn't snowboard with the rest of his family so we treated him and his dad to a helicopter flight. Wanaka Helicopters put him in the prime seat of the cockpit and really looked after him. They landed on Coromandel Peak and Mt Roy on a gorgeous day where they could see over the clouds and mountains. They made what was a disappointing trip for him truly memorable. Would highly recommend. Thanks.

We booked and flew the Mt Aspiring Explorer flight with Wanaka Helicopters in December 2025. The flight included two landings. The day before our flight, we were contacted to inform us that the weather was poor and might affect our experience. We were rebooked for the following day, which turned out to be a blessing as the weather was absolutely perfect. The team at Wanaka Helicopters is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcome. We flew with Travis, a brilliant pilot whose commentary was both informative and entertaining. He pointed out landmarks and provided general information about the area. Travis is also a fantastic photographer 😄😉 and he captured some spectacular photos for the “gram”. The landing on the glacier and Coromandel Peak was absolutely amazing (see the photos). We could see all the way to Mt Cook, which is why we were so grateful for the staff’s suggestion to move our flight day. The weather was spot on, just as predicted. I highly recommend Wanaka Helicopters for a beautiful scenic flight experience and exceptional service. We hope to return for another flight in the future.

Our pilot Pete is a very friendly man whom explained everything clearly, help out our elderly (Bren's dad) everytime and assist him to places for photos. The receptionist is nice and greeted us with warm smile. The take-off and landing of a helicopter was smoother than a plane due to no G force, best for anxious flyers. Overall was excellent! High recommend it!
