It was a wonderful experience to witness a hot spring bubbling up in the middle of nature, allowing me to feel the power of the earth.

Want to visit a "winter wonderland"? I'm not talking about the white snowy variety, but instead, the white steamy one. Then head to Waimangu Volcanic Valley (WVV) post haste. Now is an excellent time to visit. I visited there yesterday - it was a morning of cold air temperatures but sunny clear skies. A perfect late winter day. If you value your physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing then this is one place to 'recharge the batteries'. If you enjoy peace, quiet and tranquility then there is plenty of that. But much more as well......very steamy geothermal features abound thanks to the current cold air temperatures, multicoloured mother-earth rock faces and soil profiles, bubbling fumeroles and mini gysers, moss and fern slopes, brightly coloured algal mats, black swans building nests at the lake margin in preparation for springtime egg hatching (look but don't touch!), native pukeko birds grazing for breakfast on the heat-charged Warbrick Terrace, lush greener than green native bush, fresh pure air (just stand there/anywhere for a minute or two and fully oxygenate the lungs.....magic), sun-glistening lake vistas, etc, etc. I'm a regular visitor to WVV.....my go to place for health and happiness. I hope you enjoy the experience as much as I do......Stuart in Tauranga

People make places special. Shane at the counter showed us kindness, patience and understanding when our credit card didn’t go thru. In our eyes, Shane deserves a promotion and a raise because they represent everything that is right in a business and life.
